The Inspiration
Inspired by my need for (and lack of) inner stillness in a very busy and overwhelming season. I set out to create a collection on a peace within that is unshakable regardless of circumstances.
This painting in particular is very nostalgic to me. I grew up on a lake where the loons would serenade me to sleep each night. It was so special. This piece is about taking the mental time to notice the special things you love. Big and small. To notice the little love letters and gifts that God gives us throughout the day. Loons and their calls are one of those special things for me. I have found that as I notice and take in the things I love I become more present and grounded in the inner stillness I am seeking.

fireplace glow, fluffy pillows
sweet fur on your lap
that mid-morning nap
but the peaceful enthrall
that I wish to show all
is the light of the moon
taking a dance
with the call of the loon
